ChildrenConnect and Keep Newnan Beautiful are partnering to bring Kid’venture Camp to downtown Newnan this Summer! Rising k-5th graders are invited to sign up for “Session 1 - Let’s Explore Pollinators” , where we will learn all about bees, butterflies, bats and birds through hands-on kid centric activities! Secure your spot and register by, extended to May 26, 2023.
What to Expect
Day 1 - Bees - How many Bee species are there? (Bumble bees, Carpenter bees, Honey bees, Keller bees) We will sample honey, make bees, and learn all about these amazing creatures.
Day 2 - Butterflies - All things Butterflies and Caterpillars. We will make butterfly suncatchers, caterpillar egg crates, find out what butterflies eat, how long they live etc.
Day 3 - Bats & Birds - Why are bats important? How do they travel? What do they eat? What is the world’s largest bat? How do bird’s help the environment? How many types of birds are there?
Day 4 - Visit with Pollinators - Our wrap up day will include a visit from real life fruit bats, birds, and other important pollinator and environmental helpers.

10:45 - 11:45 AM - Activity 2
11:45 - 12:00 PM - Wrap Up / Clean Up / Free Play
12:00 PM - Pick Up
Price & Discounts - A summer session (M-Th) is $150 per child. ChildrenConnect Members receive a 10% discount (make sure to login to the ChildrenConnect website using the same email you purchased your membership with to receive the discount automatically at checkout). Do you have a second child attending? One sibling is eligible for a 10% discount, use promo code SIBLINGPOLLINATOR at checkout. Only one of these discounts can be applied at checkout.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up - Parents please drop-off your children at between 8:45 - 9:00 AM at the ChildrenConnect Museum. If you feel your child is not quite ready to be left without you, consider staying as a camp volunteer to help with activities and be in sight of your little one (Complete this Volunteer Interest Form at the same time of registration and put the camp session you will be volunteering at in the comment box.) Please pick-up your child at Noon at the ChildrenConnect Museum.
What to Wear - Please wear socks and closed toed shoes (no sandals). With partial outdoor activities we advise wearing sunscreen.
Bring Labeled Water Bottle - Please send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name.
Food - Snacks (peanut free) will be provided by ChildrenConnect and camp will end at Noon. Feel free to bring a packed lunch at pickup and stay to enjoy a picnic in neighboring Veterans Park after camp or grab a bite at one of the delicious downtown Newnan restaurants.
Cancellation/Refund Policy - Receive a full refund if canceled by May 17, 2023. If canceling after May 17, 2023 expect to lose your registration fee, unless there is a waitlist camper who fills your spot.
Rain Policy - In the event of rain, activities will be adapted for indoors. Camp will continue.
