Group Coordinator (Field Trips & Birthday Party Backup)
Position: Program Coordinator (FILLED)
ChildrenConnect Newnan Children’s Museum is a learning environment that empowers all children to ask questions, make mistakes, explore their creativity and connect to the world around them. As the only children’s museum in and around Coweta County we are a resource to our community and families with children ages 0-12 years old looking for creative play opportunities, workshops, camps, community events, birthday parties, field trips and volunteer opportunities.
Title: Program Coordinator
Requirements: Experience developing and delivering children focused programs is ideal. Strong customer service skills and attention to detail is needed. Experience related to education, creative arts, and technology is helpful. Project, event, and people management experience is helpful. Required to pass a criminal background check and be or become CPR certified.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and operate the museum during operating hours - such as welcome guests, collect entrance fees, guide guests through museum rooms and offerings, tidy up between visitors, assist with drop-in crafts, direct volunteers and general cleaning to prepare for the next day.

Develop program opportunities with topics in line with ChildrenConnect’s mission and strategic priorities - such opportunities include creative play exhibits, drop-in crafts & activities, workshops, camps, and community events. Program partnerships with outside community organizations are encouraged.

Deliver and lead program offerings, with support from potential partner organizations and volunteers. Prepare and operate the museum during program offerings, as well as general tidying and cleaning post program.

Administration of the museum - such as bank deposits of petty cash, purchasing operational supplies, reporting to the accountant monthly expenses and income and operating the museum within the budget. Management of day to day operations including answering incoming phone calls and online inquiries.

Report to and collaborate with the Board of Directors - such as reporting key metrics at monthly board meetings, leading volunteers placed by the Volunteer Committee Chair, capturing visitor photos and videos for Marketing Committee social media content, and communicating strategic priorities with visitors.
Working Hours: Part Time - 23 hours per week. 20 hours during open operating hours (Tues/Thurs/Sat, 9AM-1PM & Wed/Fri, 1PM-5PM. An additional 3 hours per week for program preparation and implementation.
Hourly Salary: $15.00 per hour

Requirements: Event planning, project management, and planning/leading educational child activity experience is needed. Strong customer service skills and attention to detail is needed. Experience related to toddler to elementary age education, creative arts, and technology is helpful.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate Field Trips - which includes communicating with field trip inquiries via email, phone and social, confirming booking schedule and payments, planning field trip activities, preparing for the field trip, assisting during the field trip,leading an activity, and clean-up after the field trip.

Coordinate Birthday Parties (Backup) - which includes communicating with birthday party inquiries via email, phone, confirming booking schedule and payments, planning theme and decor, preparing for the party, assisting during the party, and clean-up after the party.

Assist Program Partnerships - In the event a Program Partner needs a trained ChildrenConnect representative on-site. Responsibilities would include light communication with Program Lead, confirming scheduling and payments, prep museum, assist while programming taking place, lead activity if applicable, and clean-up after the group.

Administration Items - such as purchasing party supplies, reporting to the accountant monthly income and expenses related to groups, operating within budget. 1099 Contractors are required to submit an invoice for each group served and reimbursement of supply expenses along with receipts.

Report to and collaborate with the Board of Directors - such as gaining approval and feedback for rental program changes, reporting key metrics for use at monthly board meetings, collaborating with the Marketing Committee to feature photos and testimonials. Collaborating with the Fund Development committee on Field Trip sponsorship opportunities.
Working Hours: 1099 Contractor Position - Hours vary based on the number of groups that are booked and type of group. Each group will include duties of communication, prep, event time, and clean up. Hour estimates per group type below.
Commission Based Pay: Commission per group type as follows;

Birthday Party - Basic Package - $100 (Estimate 4-6 Hours, usually Saturday & Sundays)

Birthday Party - Deluxe Package - $175 (Estimate 6-8 Hours, usually Saturday & Sundays)

Field Trip - $100 (Estimate 4-5 Hours, usually Wednesday & Friday Mornings)

Program Partnerships - $15/hour based on needs
The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check and be or become CPR certified.
